Bid Report

This report prints a listing of all pay items showing the following information: Pay Item Number and Description

Bid Quantity and Unit

Bid Unit Price
Extension (Quantity x Bid Unit Price)


This report is not typically used to show cost information. See Figure 1.

Subtotal by Category

If you have entered categories for the project, select this option to print a sub-total line at the end of each category. See - Estimating (Advanced Options) for additional information on entering and using categories.

Subtotal by Phase

If you have entered phases for the project, select this option to print a sub-total line at the end of each phase. See - Estimating (Advanced Options) for additional information on entering and using phases.

Double Space

Check this box to double-space the report. Double spacing makes the report easier to read. However, if there is a large number of Pay Items on the job, the number of pages can be cut in half by selecting single spacing.

Pay Item Notes

Check this box to include any pay item notes that have been included in the estimate.

Use State Bid Form

Some state DOTs do not currently have a bid disk. In some cases, Professional Estimating - HEAVY can generate an approved bid report that may be submitted as your bid. If you want to use this feature, contact OSI for a list of approved states. Also, you may have to submit a copy of the printout to the DOT for approval PRIOR to your first use of the report for a bid submittal.

Print Gray Bar

Check this box to print a gray bar background for every other pay item. This option can make it easier to read a report where the numbers go across the page.

Name on Report

The system will automatically print the registered company’s name on the report. This option allows you to select a different name to print on the report.

Show On Report

These options allow you to select the information you want to include on the report (in addition to the bid price). If you are submitting a bid, you will want to select the BID PRICES ONLY option.

Print Header/Footer

This option allows you to print a custom header (or footer) at the top (or bottom) of the report. You can design a header/footer within Microsoft WordPad using different style types and fonts. Use the next option to design your header or footer.

Edit Header/Footer

This option allows you to design a custom header or footer to print at the top or bottom of the report.
