Import from Excel


 

Once a database is created and open, the next step is to add your information. (The Labor, Equipment, Material and Subcontractor databases have similar functions.) Selecting the Add Labor button will open the following window. Assign a code and description to add the new rate classification. Once added the cursor will be located on the same row in the first editable cell of the new item in the current database.

 

Importing from Excel

 

To access the file import routine in any database open the database then select File – Import from Excel and the import dialog box will appear as shown below.

 

 

Use Microsoft Excel to import data into any of the ProEstimate Heavy databases. This allows you to easily update any database in the system.

 

 

Tip: Not all databases import the same, some allow you to enter (map) the columns with data while others are looking for a specific format. In the case of specific format first go to File – Import from Excel for a template.
