Type These cost types are available for estimators who want to track hauling costs separately from sub and material costs. This is especially true for base/paving contractors. Description Quantity & Unit Unit Price Contractor This button will expand the display to include options for selecting a specific sub from the contractor database as well as entering minority information. This is the same screen as the Sub Minority Detail Screen as shown above in Figure 11.14. See the Sub cost section above for details on this screen.
Pressing the Other button will display the window shown in the Figure below. From this screen you can load indirect, hauling, or other costs into the task.
These checkboxes allow you to select cost type for the current item. You can choose from the following three options:
Indirects
Indirect Costs are those costs that are associated with a project, but cannot be directly attributed to a pay item.
Hauling/
Haul (Rate)
Other
This cost type is used when the item does not fit into any of the other cost types within an estimate.
This is the description of the work. If you want to enter a contractor’s name, you must use the Minority Details option (explained in the previous section).
This is the quantity and unit of measure for the current item. This quantity does NOT have to be the same as the task quantity.
The unit price entered here is only a default. When you load the crew into an estimate, you can change the price at that time.
