The network version of ProEstimate HEAVY must be installed on a computer with full read/write/delete access to
the network drive where the data will be stored. Also, each workstation that will be running ProEstimate HEAVY must have full (read, write, and
delete) access to the folder on the server that contains the data. In addition, each workstation must have a "mapped path" to the shared
network folder (i.e. F:\Winheavy, where "F" is the network drive).
In a standard PC setting, installing the network version requires to two steps:
- (1) install the SERVER files onto the shared network
server and
- (2) install the USER files on each workstation.
The SERVER files only need to be installed one time and the USER files must
be installed on every workstation that will be running the program.
In a "Thin Client" environment, the user files will be installed on the Terminal Server / Citrix Server and our "Server" files would be
installed on a separate unit. It is our understanding that in this scenario there could be issues with almost all software with the
import/export and printing functions. Please consult your network manager to see if this problem may exist. It is also our understanding that
there is third party software available that will help correct these potential problems.

Objects (VO). VO is a true object oriented development environment used to develop Windows
based applications. VO also is specifically designed for database oriented applications such
as ProEstimate. |
| The Database engine for ProEstimate is DBase
using FoxPro indexing. This combination of database and indexing technologies optimizes
the speed of the overall system more than other available technologies while at the
same time minimizing network and system overhead. |
